NLA launches the New London Awards to recognise London's best buildings

Monday 11 April 2011

NLA has launched the New London Awards to recognise the capital’s best projects, both completed and on the drawing board, across twelve broad sectors of the built environment.

Entries will be judged by an eminent panel of international experts in the fields of architecture and urban design, including David J Burney, Commissioner of New York City’s Department of Design and Construction, Dominique Alba, Director of the Pavillon de L’Arsenal in Paris and Riccardo Marini, City Design Leader of Edinburgh City Council.

Commended and winning projects will be those that are considered to contribute most to their urban environment through design excellence, show careful respect of local context, and demonstrate innovative and efficient use of resources in their construction, maintenance and proposed lifespan.

All shortlisted schemes will form the basis of a new 12-month New London Projects exhibition at NLA from summer 2011 and will be featured in a dedicated publication that will also be made available to visitors to the NLA galleries over the coming year.

Deadline for entries is Friday 13 May 2011.
