This month’s London Architecture Diary guest editor is The Design Museum Director, Deyan Sudjic, giving his recommendation for the best architecture, art and design events talking place across London this November.
As final preparations are made for the launch of the new Design Museum, Deyan talks to NLA on what to expect from this, one of the most highly anticipated openings of the year.
It opens from 24 November with a free permanent collection entitled Designer Maker User - designed by Morag Myserscough, and featuring everything from a Model T Ford to the Frankfurt Kitchen. The museum opens with the temporary exhibition Fear and Love, which sets out the contemporary landscape of design, exploring our anxieties about the accelerating pace of change. The second show, the Beazley Designs of the Year, includes shortlisted nominations for Herzog and de Meuron's work at Tate Modern and OMA's Prada Foundation.
