Lambeth has more than 140 major development opportunity sites and the council is set to work with public and private sector investors to bring regeneration to the borough.
A Physical Regeneration team has been in place since 2005 to take forward the borough’s Regeneration Delivery Plan. Its work includes a number of developments that aim to make the most of council-owned assets (Streatham Hub, Future Clapham and Brixton Central Square), as well as three area masterplans that are nearing completion (Brixton town centre, Streatham High Road and West Norwood).
Lambeth Planning is leading on the development of the new Local Development Framework, which includes Supplementary Planning Documents for Vauxhall and Waterloo - both of which are due to be adopted this year. Lambeth is also an exemplar Building Schools for the Future borough winning two recent awards.
