Stanton Williams is an award-winning practice, with a reputation for creating exceptional architecture.
The studio was founded by Alan Stanton and Paul Williams in 1985 following extensive individual careers in teaching and practice in the UK, Europe and the US. They have been working with fellow directors Gavin Henderson and Patrick Richard for over 18 years.
The studio now has an established team of 80 architects. Stanton Williams has successfully completed over 350 architectural, urban design, master-planning, exhibition and interior design projects, winning more than 100 international and regional awards, including the prestigious RIBA Stirling Prize for the Sainsbury Laboratory in Cambridge. The scope of their work to date includes culture, education, research, commerce, sports and leisure, residential, public realm, transport and retail projects for both public and private clients.
The practice’s shared passion for art and architecture continues to guide their design ethos, based on a deep understanding of how people experience and use spaces, creating places that respond to their cultural, social and physical context.
