Joyce’s advisory roles cover planning, heritage and urban policy. She is a trustee of the Royal Museums Greenwich, a member of Historic England’s Urban Panel and a Design Council Built Environment Expert.
Joyce was an English Heritage and a CABE Commissioner. She had a long civil service career including advising successive secretaries of state on planning in London. She played a leading role in the transformation of Trafalgar Square and Somerset House and the provision of new Thames piers. Joyce was awarded the CBE in 2001.
