Born and bred in the East End, Ken enjoyed a distinguished career in the national Newspaper Industry, before becoming a Regional Organiser, Director of the London Labour Party, and head of local government in Scotland.

Ken was elected to the Little Ilford ward in Newham in 2014 and since 2015 has been a cabinet member holding portfolios for Building Communities, Public Affairs, Regeneration & Planning. He is chair of the strategic planning committee and a representative on The Royal Docks Management Authority Limited (RoDMA) and the Royal Docks Trust.
