Mark founded Futurecity in 2007 to respond to growing interest in culture, placemaking and regeneration.

Under his stewardship the agency now has around 30 clients across the property sector and around 150 live projects, from cultural planning supporting the regeneration of towns and cities; cultural programmes designed to provide identity and vision for brownfield sites and ambitious public art projects. Mark is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, the Academy of Urbanism and a Research Fellow at the University of the Arts London.
