Heather is a landscape architect and town planner with over 20 years’ experience of working in Local Government and consultancy.

She has a particular specialism within design and place making ensuring the delivery of successful places through the preparation, coordination and implementation of masterplans, catalytic projects and collaborative working.  She has recently taken up the role of Director of Planning and Strategic Transport at the London Borough of Croydon where she is responsible for all aspects of planning, building control and transport planning.

Loosening the Green Belt


London should conduct a review of its Green Belt land to see if it can help to address the city’s housing need, perhaps within a wider regional plan. But it must be careful to avoid being railroaded into simply enriching landowners and should conduct an intelligent appraisal of its brownfield capacity first.
