This NLA breakfast talk saw the launch of the new ‘City in the East’ masterplan, which details how major development should take place from Canada Water to the Isle of Dogs and Greenwich Peninsula, right through to Ilford in Essex and Dartford in Kent, to transform this huge swathe of the capital.
As part of this the talk also launched the London Riverside OAPF, which covers an area of over 3,000 hectares of east London, encompassing parts of both Barking and Dagenham and Havering. With extensive areas of brownfield land and low levels of development activity until now, the Mayor hopes London Riverside can accommodate up to 26,500 new homes.
More information about the City in the East masterplan can be found here.
