Bloomsbury, the London heart of the old Bedford Estates, continues its rapid evolution. Join us as we discover a wealth of new and retrofitted developments at some of the area’s oldest medical and academic establishments, articulating a 21st century commitment to the area’s leading role in research and cultural development.
Our New London walk highlights an exciting new pavilion by Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners annexed to the British Museum, new University College-linked cancer research and treatment centers by Grimshaw and Hopkins and introduces a new Nanotechnology Centre by Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios. Our tour will also feature Holden's 1930’s Art Deco Senate House, whose 19 storeys gracefully preside over an exciting cluster of rebuilt educational and research institutions. During our walk, will we investigate and explore how the area’s historic residential garden square ambience has been retained and celebrated alongside recent surges in building and development.
This walk starts and finishes at New London Architecture.
