NLA's Don’t Move, Improve! Awards, now in their fourth year, aim to discover the best and most innovative home extensions, home interior design and small office conversions completed in London in the last three years.
The competition hopes to raise the profile of smaller architectural practices in the capital whilst illustrating how sensitively designed extensions can be positive additions to the townscape.
The 48 shortlisted projects on display were selected by an eminent jury for their innovation and creativity in the creation of new space, high quality design that adds to London's rich mix of architectural styles, and sustainable and cost-effective approaches to project delivery.
The projects demonstrate a wide range of solutions for extending and remodeling Londonʼs typical dwelling types, including mews houses, Victorian town houses, terraces, post-war suburban semis, cottages, and examples of how to reconfigure defunct office buildings. Each will provide inspiration for homeowners and small businesses looking to create more space in their homes and offices at a variety of budgets.
